Tempelhofer Freiheit offers plenty of space for a wide array of activities, including sports and recreation, taking a long stroll, bike riding or simply just relaxing on the grass. As long as visitors show respect and consideration for one another and for all of the site’s plants and animals, then there’s nothing standing in the way of a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay. We therefore ask that you take note of the area’s rules and regulations when visiting Tempelhofer Freiheit.

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash. There are three large dog runs where dogs can exercise and play off-leash.

Having a barbecue is permitted in three designated areas. It is not permitted to have an open fire or barbecue on any of the remaining space.

The park managers and the service personnel at the various Infoboxes will be happy to answer any questions you might have during your stay.

Restrictions

Ecologically sensitive areas strictly designated for flora and fauna are located between the runways at the centre and southern sections of the park. For example, the rare field lark breeds here between April and July. In order to ensure the preservation of certain plants and animals, these areas receive special protection and will therefore be either enclosed or marked with signs. Visitors are asked to show consideration for these nature conservation areas and not to walk on or enter them.
